Tom,

I went to Radio Shack and bought a cigarette lighter receptacle, and wired it into the 12v feed that is under the left pocket. I plugged the cigarette lighter plug from the Sirius car kit into the jack, and wrapped a tie wrap around it so it won't wiggle loose. I ran the wire under the fairing and secured it to the left handle bar with velcro tie wraps.

I had initially wanted to use the Aux feed wire to run the Sirius, but I got too much engine noise in the speakers. Rather than spend the additional money for a noise filter, I just use the FM transmitter feature and it works just fine.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hi John, Ken Clarke was (or is) a staff writer for the Orlando Sentinel, and the story I posted here was written by him in 1996. I merely posted it. So, he would be your cousin, not me. I unfortunately do not know how to contact Ken, but you might start with the Orlando Sentinel. Good luck!

I am the son and grand son of the John Thrashers you mentioned in your article. I just returned from the 33rd Thrasher Family Reunion and find a new Thrasher on my e-mail!. I would like to know who your Thrasher conection ( since you say you are kin ) was and perhaps you are interedted in Thrasher Genealogy - an on going project along with the Thrasher DNA project. THanks cousin! John III
