Some cleanup and paint work
I was gone for the weekend, and came back around noon on Sunday. I took the tops off the carbs and cleaned them up and got them ready for a coat of paint. I bought some “chrome” paint, some aluminum looking stuff, and some gold, all in rattle cans. I wasn’t sure how the chrome paint would look, so I painted one top with the chrome, and one with the aluminum. I decided the chrome looked pretty good, so I went ahead and painted all 4 of them.
While I was at it, I painted the tank emblems with the gold. I will paint the wing and letters with some black paint by hand later.
I was thinking about doing the paint scheme in some type of a red/white/blue motif. I found some stick on graphics from Dawg’s http://dawgscyclegrafix.com/. I just need to figure out if the graphics will fit with the emblems attached. If you go to the web site and click on the Patriot set, those are the ones I was looking at. I will probably change my mind a dozen times before I finally make up my mind.

You just gota tell me what chrome paint you used? it`s so “real chrome looking”

Hi Marlon. That paint is just plain old Rustoleum Bright Coat that I bought at the Home Depot. The only thing about it is that since it is paint, it is a little soft to the touch, so you need to be careful with it that you don’t leave fingerprints in the final finish. But, it IS really shiny!!
