Got the right screws
I stopped at my local Home Depot, went to the hardware section, pulled out the tray that contained the 5 x 16mm machine screws, grabbed 2 packages of screws and lock washers and was on my way in 10 minutes! $1.92.
I worked on some more cleanup. I have been wire brushing the pipes and it is slow going because I have to keep turning the whole bunch of them over to get at all the rusty spots. I also tried an experiment with some regular automotive rubbing compound and a buffing pad on the electric drill. It actually cleans up the aluminum quite nicely. I just need to figure out what I am going to clear coat it with.
It was hard to get a picture that really shows how much the covers shine now.
