Hi all, got myself also a CB650 Custom from 81.
Read your comments and have same issues on not getting started right. Probably has to do with the two little blocks that ensure that the ignitors have enough power to fire. When you heat the ignitors using a cooking device and then put it back in the engine, you will find out it will start running the engine. In most cases when you try to start the engine without having good blocks (as I call them) it can happen that ur ignitors are getting wet of the fuel. The blocks as I call them are located on the right side of the battery pack and come in two.

Trust to have informed you all sufficient.

It is a possibility that they are the wrong carbs, but I don't know. These are the carbs that were on the bike when I got it. How would I determine if they are the wrong ones?
